Poser 338 - Dumfries register of testaments |
|
This week's poser is the opening clause of a testament for you to transcribe. The testament belongs to a woman and comes from the Dumfries register of testaments (National Records of Scotland, CC5/6/1 page 49). Note how the clerk sometimes uses thorns, and sometimes th ligatures to represent the sound 'th'. Note also the use of p-prefixes, such as per and par, and w which looks like a double l.
