Poser 308 – Minute book of Culross Burgh, 1698

This week's poser is taken from a stent roll (a local tax roll listing burgesses and other burgh inhabitants). It appears in a minute book of Culross Burgh (Fife Council Archives, reference B-CUL1/1/2, reproduced here with permission of Fife Council).

The amount of tax, which in the original volume appears to the right of each name, has been cut here for reasons of space. Note how the clerk has a habit of making some capital letters very large and elaborate. He seems inordinately fond of the letter J.
