Our poser this week is from the registers of the regality and barony court of Dunkeld in the 18th century. (National Archives of Scotland reference RH11/28/4 pp3 and 15). This volume, like its counterparts, is very slim and narrow and the way it has been bound means that the start of some of the lines are not visible. This is not an uncommon problem with volumes which are bound after they are written rather than bound, blank volumes being prepared for writing in. It is easy to see that there are two different clerks involved in the examples below as the hands are very different. The first one looks much more like early Secretary Hand, while the second one is tending towards the sloping, looping hand so prevalent in the Victorian era.

What we’d like you to do this week is identify all the occupations which are attributed to the listed individuals. You should find eight, with one or two being repeated.
